It is a traditional rustic bath, in a small village - with only a few dozen inhabitants - but renowned, because King Charles himself has a property here.
Not far from the traditional mineral water bath there are two mineral water springs, as well as a mofette.

💦💧 Nature's bounty is attested to by the Apor Girls' Bath in the Natura 2000 Ciomad-Balvanyoș area, a few minutes' walk from the Balvanyos Resort. The rarest type of mineral water in the region bubbles to the surface in a small area, with different chemical compositions and pH values. According to oral tradition, the power of the Timsós mineral water was once used to heal bleeding wounds, the sulphurous spring water to treat inflammations, and the low pH spring water containing free sulphuric acid to clean teeth. In rainy weather, you will smell rotten eggs due to the hydrogen sulphide. These springs are considered unique in Europe. 💙

💦 The Brețcu Mountains surround the village of Peteni, where a cold mineral water bath (called Fortyogó) awaits you, which is best reached from Imeni. This CO2 saturated bath also serves as a wet mofetta. In addition to the traditional Szekler bath, you will also find a wood-heated Finnish sauna. For a snack, feel free to use the picnic pavilion. In the northern border of the village, in the valley of the Borvíz Stream (Mineral Water Stream), a good-tasting mineral water gushes up. It is recommended as a drinking cure for people suffering from stomach, intestinal, liver and urinary diseases.
📌 Useful information: An appointment is required to use the sauna. Those wishing to use the sauna must bring their own wood, as it cannot be provided on site.

💧 The entire Szeklerland, and within, Covasna county are especially rich in popular baths, which were regularly used by the locals before the communist regime, but after the nationalization of the territories these community facilities were destroyed and became unusable. Recently, on the initiative of the Ars Topia Foundation from Hungary, several popular baths of this kind have been restored and made usable all over Szeklerland.
In summer 2017 Ghelinţa hosted a ten-day bath constructing voluntary co-operative work supported, besides the organizing foundation, also by the local government and the Vinca Minor Association. The construction work required a significant amount of lumber, 55 cubic meters of planks and wood, which the saw mills from Ghelinţa transported to the site on the first request of the village leaders; others supported the initiative with food and other smaller things.
The participants of the voluntary co-operative work built a community house, a spring area covered with shingles, a dressing cabin, a 3x3 m2 and 140 cm deep basin and a hollow playground; they assembled sunbeds and signposts. The design and construction of the Spiral Hill was carried out by Péter Alpár artist.

💧 Csiszár Bath is an oasis of folk remedy, where there are several cold mineral water pools of different sizes, with different chemical composition and beneficial effects. In addition, mofetta (dry bath), hot-water tubs and saunas await you in a quiet environment, in the soft embrace of the forest of Băile Balvanyoș. You’ll certainly like the spirit of the place, the simplicity of folk medicine, the closeness to nature, all the more so as you can learn
the descriptive names and stories of the pools and springs and their healing properties.
Being in the middle of the forest, for the safety of guests, the venue is surrounded by an electric fence.
Useful information: Accessible from the main road from the Cetate Pension by a 10-minute forest walk from the car park.
The cold mineral water pools and springs have different mineral composition.
Please read the information panels which indicate the history of them and their medicinal properties.
The mofetta (carbon dioxide gas-bath) has beneficial effects in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, locomotory and gynaecological complaints, as well as metabolic and nervous system disorders.

The carbonated mineral water hidden in the subsoil is the treasure of Petőfalva. It bubbles up at every step on the swampy plains of the Feketeügy (Râul Negru), so one can take a dip almost anywhere. For centuries, the village has been known for the carbonated mineral water springing up from an abandoned dead ditch of the river. These carbon dioxide-saturated soaks served as water mofettas in the past, and their medicinal properties were soon recognised.
During the communist era, not thinking about the protection of the mineral water springs in the countryside, drainage works were carried out in the Mezőföld, and the Fortyogó became the victim of a drainage ditch. For many years, no one bothered to renovate it. However, nature has taken care to heal the wound, because the untended water channel has in the meantime become clogged, and the former Fortyogó’s location was marked by the loudly bubbling mofetta gas. In 2008, the Fortyogó in Petőfalva was renovated as part of a movement initiated by the county government to renovate folk baths. The pool was renovated and a wood-fired sauna was built next to it.
The Fortyogó comes to the surface along the crustal fracture on the line of which Hatolykafürdő (Băile Hătuica) lies to the north and Kovásznafürdő (Băile Covasna) to the south.
Medical indication: This mofetta offers symptomatic treatment for cardiovascular problems.
Usage: Approaching the mofetta requires caution; it can be dangerous if used incorrectly. Before entering the dry bath, you should be well rested, and the gas level should be checked. The easiest way to do this is the open flame test: where the flame goes out, you should not bend down anymore. Occasional, single use should not exceed 10 minutes.

Baths and mofetta of the Counts Mikes
The Zsombor stream runs westwards from the Bálványos Pass (940 m). Its headwater area is just as rich in mineral water and gas deposits as the area around the Sósmező (Poiana Sărată). The oldest bath guidebooks refer to this place as Mikes-Zsombor Baths.
The earliest mention of it comes from Balázs Orbán, who visited the place before 1868. “Here is the Hortyogó or Fortyogó (...) medicinal spring, which rises from the peatery a short distance from the stream bed” – he wrote. “Its water has a yellowish-brown colour and is used for bathing in tubs of planks. It is highly curative against gout, bone pains, shrinkage, and stiffness of muscles, as well as old wounds. (…). Across the stream called there is another medicinal spring called Hammas (...), whose waters could easily be collected for a great bath.” The ideas of Balázs Orbán were successfully put into practice by Count Benedek Mikes, who had the bathing pools renewed, since the mineral water and gas eruptions in Zsombor were on his lands. Their restoration was continued by his son, Count Ármin Mikes in 1943. His work was prevented from being completed by the Second World War.
After the change of regime, the land in question reverted to the Count Mikes and Roy Chowdhury de Ulpur family of Zabola (Zăbala). In 2007, the great-grandson of Ármin Mikes, Gergely Roy Chowdhury of Zabola, started the third renovation of the mineral water and gas pools, and the new mofetta was built on a stone base near the pool of the Vallatófürdő, which contains hydrogen sulphide and carbon dioxide gas of the solfataric type. Here, one can also see sulphur precipitation on the pit wall.

We invite you in our farm in order to relax around a treasury of cultural exception: Lipizzan horses!
The Bartha’s Farm’ and the Lipizzan Horse Club’s headquarters are located near the village of Chichiş, in the beautiful area of the Piatra Mare, Făgăraş, Bucegi, Piatra Craiului and Ciucaş mountains.
The farm history began in 1992, with purchasing two mares of the Favory and Conversano bloodlines and two stallions of the Siglavy Capriola and Maestoso bloodlines from the Stud Farm of Sâmbăta de Jos. After a period of search for an optimal agricultural land for the breeding and growing of these Lipizzan horses, the owner found an overall of 40 ha in Chichiş, out of which 30 ha is pasture and 10 ha is arable and grassland. The Bartha’s Farm has a total of 47 horses, out of which 12 are mares, 25 foals, and 10 race horses. The farm finished its riding arena last year, on the top of which was built a hostel of 16 places, mostly used for equestrian conferences, and different types of family events. The Bartha’s Farm is both for the Lipizzaner horse lovers and nature enthusiasts. The trail excursions are very popular at the Bartha’s Farm and usually begin in May and last until November. They are both for beginners and advanced riders. The 3-5 day hikes on horseback take the rider to the adjacent mountains and the package includes accommodation and demi-pension at the farm.
The one-week summer camps for children take place in July and August, each day with three-hour equestrian activities in the morning and evening. Robert Bartha and his son are permanent participants of national and international carriage competitions.
Other services and activities:
· hostel for horses (in boxes or outside the barn)
· horse training for saddle and carriage
· carriage or sleigh rides
· BBQ party for families or groups of children
· holiday farm, with specific activities on the farm: feeding animals, cleaning stalls, training horses, etc.
