Snowmobile trip from Comandău to Lăcăuți peak - adrenaline and fairytale landscapes

Lăcăuți peak is the highest point of Covasna county. The trail is dreamy, and from the top tourists will have an extraordinary view of the surrounding places. The route is also accessible in summer, but in winter the scenery changes. At the top the winter is like a fairytale, the attraction of the winter landscape is easy to see. The light in winter has a magical effect, during sunrise or sunset you can catch the bright light as it shines on the snow.
Sledges can be rented from several locations: Club Dacilor, Apres Snow, Cabana Maria, Kommando Camp, price starting from 300 lei/hour/snowmobile. Snowmobile trips are limited in number, with a guide and it is recommended that tourists are well prepared for the weather conditions (ski pants and jacket, snow boots, balaclava, etc.). Low temperatures, wind and rain can be a real challenge. Before setting off, tourists receive a helmet and a briefing. This adventure offers a fabulous experience for young and old alike.

The Lőrincz Zsigmond ski slope and ice rink in Covasna

The lower part of the slope, located at an altitude of 624 meters, is 400 meters long and has an easy difficulty level. The other part has a higher degree of difficulty, medium to difficult, and can be classified as a trail for advanced skiers. The slope has a night lift, ski lift, snow cannon and free parking. Since the 2018-2019 season, an artificial ice rink has been installed next to the ski slope. 
At the bottom of the slope there is a ski bar, where you can order tea, mulled wine.
The slope is not crowded at all and prices are much lower than in Brasov county. A climb on the first section is 3 lei, as well as a climb on the second section, but there is also the possibility of taking out a subscription, as follows: a subscription for the time slot 10.00-15.00 - is 24 lei per person, a subscription for the time slot 15.00-21.00 is 34 lei per person, a one-day subscription is 46 lei per person, and a weekend subscription (two days) - 66 lei per person. Children under 6 years old accompanied by adults are free of charge, and pupils and students up to 25 years old, as well as pensioners get a 50% discount on the rink's usage fee. The rental fee for full ski equipment is 30 lei per day (15 lei/pair of skis and 15 lei/pair of skis)/day, and the fee for sled rental is 5 lei per hour. For skate rental, the rate is 10 lei/pair/set (90 minutes interval).

Walks along the snow-covered alleys of the village are another way to relax. Whether you walk or rent a car-drawn sleigh, you are always fascinated by the simplicity and beauty of these lands.
Tourists arriving in Comandău have the possibility to rent sledges at Apres Snow (open-air bar and disco), prices start from 100 lei/hour/sled. A tow hook is required to pull the sled and careful driving is recommended. 
After this getaway, tourists have the opportunity to try fishing (trout) at the Dacian Club. This activity offers an unforgettable experience for both children and adults. At the tourists' request the catch can be prepared by the on-site chef and served. If the visitor has no appetite for fish, then they can eat a la carte at the on-site restaurant, where there is a variety of traditional and local dishes.

Comandău ski slope and horse-drawn sleigh ride

The Comandău slope is a blue slope with a low degree of difficulty and a length of 300 meters. It starts at an altitude of 1100 metres, has a capacity of up to 600 people and is served by a single-pass ski lift. The rates are low: 2 lei climb/adult and 1.5 lei climb/child. At the bottom of the slope there is a chalet with a small ski bar. You can order some snacks such as: bread with lard and onions - 1,5 lei each; cheese, bacon, sausage, onions and bread platter - 15 lei or small bread and mustard - 4 lei/piece and mulled wine - 5 lei or tea - 3 lei.
Charming landscapes, fun and thrills on a horse-drawn sleigh ride. As for a large horse-drawn sleigh (for 6-8 people), the price is 200 lei for an hour's ride.

Winter Rally Covasna

Winter Rally Covasna is an international event that takes place exclusively on snow and ice. The competition has gained a great reputation among competitors from Hungary, Bulgaria and Greece. The competitors have several special stages on mountain routes in winter road conditions, covered with ice and snow. This year's competition will be held from 2-3 February 2024 in Comandău.
