💙 This weekend, May 16-17, the town of Covasna comes alive with tradition, music, and local flavors!

🎉 We invite you to join us for the “Izvoare Covăsnene” Folk Dance Festival and the Opening of the Tourist Season, events taking place both in the courtyard of the Town Cultural Center and at other locations throughout the city, bringing a festive atmosphere to the entire community.

❗️ Please note: certain programs and presentations will be held only in Romanian and Hungarian languages.

🔹 PROGRAM

🗓 SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2026

  • 7:00-8:00 AM – Tethered hot air balloon flight with X Balloon Transylvania – Lőrincz Zsigmond Ski Slope. The schedule is subject to weather conditions. Participation requires advance registration at: 0762 674516. The flight lasts approximately 5–10 minutes for groups of 3–4 people. Upon request, a balloon tour lasting approximately 1.5 hours can also be arranged.
  • 9:00 AM-3:00 PM – Traditional and Local Products Fair – Covasna City Promenade
  • 10:00 AM-1:00 PM – Programs of the “Izvoare Covăsnene” Folk Dance Festival
  • 1:00-2:00 PM – Presentation of the Csoma International Exhibition – “Kádár László” Art Gallery, Covasna
  • 6:00 PM – Modern dance and cheerleading performance by the Covasna Children’s Club
  • 7:00 PM – Concert by the Atlantisz Brass Band from Ozun
🗓 SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2026

  • 9:00 AM-3:00 PM – Traditional and Local Products Fair – Covasna City Promenade
  • 1:00 PM-5:00 PM – “The Household of the Past” – exhibition from a private collection (📍 4 Piliske Street, near the Csoma Memorial Center, Information: 0744 190997)

🔹 PERMANENT PROGRAMS:

🍲 Tasting of traditional local food – Pokolsár Association 
💧 Tasting of Covasna mineral waters and presentation of tourist attractions and accommodations 
📚 Book exhibition “Covasna, the City of Mofettes and 1,000 Mineral Water Springs” – Covasna City Library booth
📸 Photo exhibition by Bede Erika and Csata Zoltán – Covasna Cultural Center 

✨ There will be two days filled with folk performances, traditional dances, local products, and special moments for all ages. 🎶
